“My hope is
in Christ, who strengthens the weakest by His Divine
help
…His Goodness is infinite, and if my trust
is stayed in Him, I shall not be abandoned.”—Pope
St. Pius X
Dear Friends in Christ,
Thank you for your interest in St. Pius X Catholic School.
We are so glad you are considering our parish school for
your child’s education. In 2005, we celebrated
our 50th year as a school and, with rigorous academic expectations,
varied extra-curricular offerings and, most importantly,
a strong foundation in Catholic values and traditions,
the faculty, staff and administration here at St. Pius
X is excited about our next fifty years.
The most fundamental goal at St. Pius X is to help students
cultivate their relationship with God in the context of
the Gospels and traditions of the Church. Students
are asked to lead the school in morning prayer, help plan
school liturgies, and participate in faith-building activities
(such as Living Nativity, Living Way of the Cross and Mother’s
Day Mass). Such events are instrumental as students
seek to understand the role of faith in their lives.
With experienced teachers known for going “above
and beyond” to challenge and support our students,
St. Pius X is also recognized for its strong academic program. We
offer all students a challenging core curriculum in basic
subjects such as reading, mathematics and science. We
also offer our elementary students weekly experiences in
Spanish, library/media, art, technology, music and physical
education. Extra-curricular opportunities are also
available through our participation in CYO Sports. And
our SPX-tras program offers students the opportunity to
join classes such as chess, cooking, jewelry-making, pottery,
Scrabble Club, video production and dance. Based
on the performance of our teachers and students, we are
consistently recognized as “exemplary” from
the Indiana Department of Education and, just last year,
have been designated as a No Child Left Behind “Blue
Ribbon” school by the United States Department of
Education.
At St. Pius X, we are fortunate to have a very active school
and parish community who understand gifts such as volunteerism,
service and stewardship as essential to living out their
faith in God. Our Parent-Teacher Organization is
very active at the school, providing students with additional
opportunities and resources both inside and outside the
classroom. Several school-wide programs are coordinated
almost entirely from our committed group of parent volunteers. Such
participation bears witness to the spirit of family and
community found at St. Pius X.
As you make this important decision about which school
is best for your child, we invite you to contact us to
discuss openings at our school. Please visit the
admissions link on this site to learn more about application
process.
Sincerely yours in Christ
