Description: SPX fields coed soccer teams in the spring for students in grades 4-8. Teams are entered in CYO competition in 56 and Cadet leagues. CYO regulations and eligibility standards apply as outlined on the CYO website at http://www.cyoarchindy.org.

2012 Spring Soccer Information
Sign-up Due Dates & Costs:
Sign-up by February 24, 2012 - Cost: $75
Please register and pay online as soon as possible to help us determine the number of teams we can field. The due date for sign-up is February 24th. After Feb 24th we cannot guarantee your child a spot on a team.
SPX Spring Sports Registration
CYO has a new online sports sign-up process. Each parent must register their child for all CYO sports. Click here to view "Registration Information" -- and follow the directions found there.
4th Grade
We welcome 4th grade students to sign up. Fourth graders may play in the 56 league as a separate team or be combined with 5th grade players.
General Information about the Spring Soccer Season
When?
Practices usually start in early March (weather dependent). Coaches will call their teams shortly before practices start. Games begin in early April and are usually over by the middle of May. Game schedules & standings are posted by the CYO Office.

Uniforms
Jerseys will be handed out before games start. These jerseys will be collected at the end of the season. Purple or black shorts should be worn. Gold soccer socks are also part of the uniform. Socks will be made available through your team coach if needed. As part of the program this season, each player will also receive a SPX Soccer t-shirt which will be used as an alternate jersey, if required.
Equipment
Shin guards are required for games and practices. Soccer cleats are not mandatory, but recommended. Baseball and football cleats are not permitted. Every player should bring a soccer ball to practice. A size 4 ball is used at the 56 level, and a size 5 ball is used at the Cadet level. Bring water bottles to both games and practices.
Practices
Practices will be scheduled by your coach. We have some cold practices early in the year so please have players dress appropriately for the weather.
Coaching
It is difficult for any one individual to be a full-time coach, so your help as an assistant coach or team coordinator helps our program greatly. If you can help, please let us know.
